Farm Logbook - May
We begin this new logbook by welcoming the horses onto our land. Every year, we receive a few equines from the Ditteo association, based in Les Ponts de Cé, which is dedicated to the education of horses rescued from the slaughterhouse. To stay with the animal theme, we had the joy (and surprise) of seeing two new lambs among our flock of sheep. They are in great shape! Despite the bad weather delaying some work, particularly planting in the open field, seed production activities continue on the land. This week, Olivier and Marion planted original varieties under cover: red Corsican tomatoes, Belle de Loraine, Belle Arlésienne, Valencia, … moon and star watermelons, snake squash, Bono cucumber, castrato zucchini, Ruby leather pea, … This year's goal is to produce more varietal diversity on our land.
