Allium Karataviense Red Giant Star is an ornamental garlic variety from Turkestan with a short stem (20 cm) and round umbels filled with purplish-red flowers. Gray-green foliage. Planting allium
Soak the bulbs for 24 hours in clean water just before planting. Alliums need sun and prefer well-drained soil. Plant them from September to December with the tips facing upwards, 13 cm deep and 10 to 13 cm apart. Water well after planting.
Plant them in groups for best results. Alliums are arguably at their best among perennials. Cut the flowers when they begin to wilt. The flowers can be dried and used in floral arrangements. They will all naturalize, although flowering will gradually diminish over the years. It is best to pull the bulbs every 3 to 4 years, divide the clumps, and replant.
Alliums are superb as cut flowers and will remain beautiful for a long time, even as dried flowers. These bulbs are deer-resistant and ideal for areas where deer are found. Fertilize just before flowering. Water and wait!

Bulbs in the lawn
A very attractive planting technique is to plant bulbs in your lawn. To do this, use a bulb planter, place a thin layer of drainage at the bottom of the hole, place the bulb, cover with soil, firm down, and water. You'll achieve a beautiful result in your garden.
