Description

Wild perennial of the undergrowth, reaching about 70 cm, very appreciated by gourmets for its fine flavor, to be sown in fresh, rich, semi-shaded soil, first harvest 2 years after sowing. Stems and flower buds are eaten like green asparagus, picked at mid-growth still in tight buds. Be careful not to pull the bulb when harvesting. Gentle steaming or quick wok cooking to preserve their mild flavor between artichoke and green asparagus.

How to successfully sow wild asparagus

Sow directly into the ground in autumn or early spring in a shady spot that stays cool.

It is possible to sow in a pot and then plant the plants in the ground.

The seeds need a long period of cold, 2 to 4 weeks, germination can take several weeks, at least 3 to 4 weeks.

Its wild harvesting is regulated in several departments, so it is best to grow it on the edge of woods or in fresh meadows!
