Culture advice:
It is possible to sow squash directly into the ground when frost is no longer a concern. Sowing squash directly into the ground often guarantees better success, and can even recover from a crop started in a pot.

Good to know:
Although it's tempting to grasp squash by their stems, this can cause invisible lesions that promote rot. Therefore, it's best to handle squash with care and avoid using the stems as a handle.

In the kitchen:
Squash can be eaten in a variety of ways: grated raw, in pies, flans, sautéed, fried, stuffed, in soups, or mashed. Some stringy varieties can be used as a pasta substitute and eaten like spaghetti, Bolognese, or carbonara. The seeds, in addition to being able to be made into oil, can also be roasted for a unique appetizer.

In the event of a stock shortage, La Ferme de Sainte Marthe may consider replacing one of the references cited with an equivalent variety that is relevant to the theme.
