Sarno fennel, an heirloom variety, is distinguished by its hardiness in cold temperatures and its ability to resist bolting. Its bright white bulbs are round and compact, while its leaves are thick and fleshy. This variety offers a robust structure and an attractive appearance.
It is eaten raw or cooked.
How to successfully sow fennel
Sowing: Sow thinly in place in April/May in loose, rich, deep soil, in a sunny position, in rows 40 cm apart. Thin to 15 cm in the row.
Harvesting fennel
Harvest approximately 3 months after sowing.
