FRITILLARY MELEAGRIS MIXTURE

Fritillaria

Native to the Scandinavian Peninsula, the Fritillaria meleagra was an abundant plant in the Loire Valley, growing in wet or flooded meadows. Highly sought after for bouquets, this species is now protected in the Loire Valley. The square-shaped bell-shaped flowers have a curious purplish-pink checkerboard pattern and bloom between March and May. The leaves, bluish-green and narrow, blend in with the grass in which they grow in the wild.
