Description

Lycium barbarum, also known as goji, is a hardy and easy-to-grow variety. This plant requires cross-pollination with other species to produce optimal fruit. Its delicate purple flowers are particularly attractive to pollinators due to their abundant nectar.
It thrives in poor, well-drained soils, resisting drought well but being particularly sensitive to overwatering. The elongated fruits are distinguished by their sweetness and nutrient richness.

Harvest :

Goji berries are typically harvested from late summer to fall . They are ready to pick when they are bright red and slightly soft to the touch. You can harvest the berries by hand or with small pruning shears, being careful not to damage the plant. It is best to consume the berries once dried, as fresh fruit, which is too high in alkaloids, can be toxic in excess. Dried gojis are an excellent source of vitamin C and antioxidants.
