Allium cepa
Also known as the Stuttgarter Rieser onion , this yellow variety is very productive . Its large, round, slightly flattened, firm bulbs keep well . Regularly used in cooking , it is a must-have in the vegetable garden .
Bulbous, this perennial has long, hollow leaves , similar to those of chives. When flowering, you can admire a ball of small flowers .
Planting
- Period : from February to April .
- Soil : light , not very rich soil.

- Watering : unnecessary except in cases of extreme heat .
Harvesting and preservation
It is possible to harvest some green onions as needed, but these do not keep as well .
To enjoy them all year round, choose to pull them up in July or August , when the tops are dry .
Then let the bulbs dry in the sun for a few days, then store them in a dry, ventilated place .
