Description

Perennial, creeping seed, very hardy . Plant in a sunny and warm location, spacing 20 cm in all directions. Harvest the leaves when the plant reaches 20 cm in 90 to 95 days . Its small white flowers, appearing in early summer, are edible . Its oval, green-grey leaves have the typical flavour of oregano and have been used for hundreds of years as an aromatic and medicinal plant in the Near East. This oregano is used in the composition of the famous spice mixture called Zaâtar . Depending on its origin ( Lebanon , Jordan , Syria ), the composition can vary, but the base remains the same: oregano , sumac , sesame and salt .

Sowing

From March to May , in pots or in the ground, in shallow rows spaced 30 cm apart, in a sunny position, in dry, well-drained soil.
