The leather pea, also called Egyptian Dolique or Dolique Lablab, is a magnificent annual climbing plant requiring support for its lush vegetation. Its beautiful purple foliage highlights its mauve flowers, which then give way to beautiful flat, dark purple pods with copper highlights, hence its name 'leather' pea. Be careful, the pods and seeds must be cooked for a long time in 2 waters before being consumed in order to lose all toxicity.
