CAMELINE AB
Camelina sativa
Oilseed plant formerly cultivated in Europe, whose honey-producing yellow flowers produce seeds containing oil, with characteristics similar to rapeseed oil. Soil improver with very fast growth (3 to 4 months), easy to establish. Very hardy, adapted to poor soils. Low water requirements, resistant to drought and cold (-10°C). Sow from mid-April to mid-June, directly in place, about 1 cm deep. Plants should be spaced 10 to 15 cm apart in all directions. Dig in 3 to 4 months after sowing. Sowing rate: PMG 1 to 1.5 g. Soil improver is a crop that will be dug in to enrich and fertilize the soil. It improves its structure and is a source of humus and nitrogen. It eliminates or reduces weeds. It is sown broadcast, the seeds are covered superficially. Mow it as soon as its vegetation is sufficiently developed, do not let it go to seed, mulch it with a mower and incorporate it into the soil with a spade or a motor hoe.
