CARROT PARIS MARKET 3 AB
Daucus carota
The Paris Market Carrot is an early variety, of the Grelot type, which produces small, round, orange roots with tender, tasty flesh, renowned for its very good taste quality.
This variety thrives in sandy soils, but its small size allows it to tolerate clayey but not compact soils. It can also be grown in pots.
Due to its shape, this variety is ideal for sautéing or glazing.
Successful sowing of carrots at the Paris market
- Spring sowing, from March to June for summer harvest.
- Summer sowing, from May to July for a harvest from early autumn to winter.
Sow thinly in rows 25 to 30 cm apart in rich, loosened soil, in a sunny location.
Thin out once to 4 or 5 leaves at 2 or 3 cm then to 7/8 cm.
You can combine it with radishes, which means you don't have to thin out the row of carrots several times, and radishes also keep red spider mites away.
