perennial
Lemon catnip is a perennial aromatic plant, very honey-producing with a strong lemon scent, ideal for preparing infusions with calming properties, stimulating for the digestive system, good for colds and coughs and for treating fever.
Its lemony fragrance with a hint of rose lasts a long time after harvesting and drying.
Lemon catnip forms small clumps of green foliage about 20 to 30 cm in all directions and spikes of very pretty pinkish-white to mauve flowers in summer. Hardy, it is a must-have for sunny dry gardens.
In cooking it is used to flavor salads, sauces, fish or in drinks.
Lemon catnip also has an oil that repels insects and aphids.
Sow from April to July in a nursery or seed tray, covering the seeds with a few mm of seed compost.
Once the young plants have developed, you can plant them in drained soil and in a sunny position, keeping 40 to 60 cm between them.
Flowering takes place from June to August/September.
