Very decorative in large clumps, blooms for months if care is taken to remove the faded flowers. Edible flowers for decorating summer salads. Excellent cut flower. Height: up to 75 cm. Flowering: June to August.

Description

The 'black ball' cornflower is a large and beautiful variety of annual cornflower with double flowers. Its deep purple flowers appear almost black. Easy to grow, it is very decorative. Ideal in sunny beds, it will quickly create a rustic decor. Its flowering is very melliferous and nectariferous. Size: 75 cm high by 30 cm wide. Sowing the 'black ball' cornflower Sow in place from March to June, 5 mm deep, sunny exposure. Keep moist. Emergence in 2 to 3 weeks. Thin out every 10 cm. Hoe and water regularly. Can be sown in August/September in pots in a frost-free place, at 18/23 °C, in the light, for planting in spring the following year. Flowering Flowering from April until frost. Maintenance Water regularly and remove faded flowers to prolong flowering.
