CENTAURY VARIETY AB
Centaurea cyanus
The "varied centaury" mix is a mix of varieties with double white, pink, red, lilac, mauve or blue flowers, for a country decor. Hardy and undemanding, adapting to a sunny to semi-shaded exposure, the centaury appreciates fresh soils but tolerates drought quite well and grows in ordinary soils, even the poorest. Up to 1m in height. Very decorative in large clumps, these cornflowers will eventually reflower by regularly removing faded flowers. Sowing the "varied centaury" mix Sow on the surface in April/May, firming the soil well and watering regularly until emergence. Otherwise, under cover in pots in September for planting the following year. Flowering From June to August. Maintenance Remove faded flowers to encourage possible reflowering.
