The "classic fantastic" mixed knapweed is a superb mix of double knapweed with a blue heart, in shades of white to dark blue. Very decorative over large areas, blooms for months if the faded flowers are removed. Edible flowers for decorating summer salads. Hardy and undemanding, adapting to a sunny to semi-shaded position, knapweed appreciates fresh soil but tolerates drought quite well and grows in ordinary soils, even the poorest. Up to 1m in height. Very decorative in large clumps. Excellent cut flower. Sowing the "classic fantastic" mixed knapweed Sow on the surface in April/May, firming the soil well and watering regularly until emergence. Otherwise, under cover in pots in September for planting the following year. Flowering From June to August. Maintenance Remove faded flowers to encourage possible reflowering.
