Description

Curly chervil is an aromatic herb that enhances the flavor of dishes such as salads , soups , or sauces . Its flavor is less pronounced than that of common chervil and its foliage is shorter, which allows it to be more resistant and to produce for a longer period.

Sowing curly chervil

You can sow your seeds throughout the year, but the best time to sow them is from March to September . Chervil likes heat, but it also needs shade . Indeed, if it flowers quickly, curly chervil will lose its taste. Therefore, sow from mid-March to June in a sunny location, from July to October in the shade , and from November to March under cover.
Plant your seedlings in light , moist soil. Make sure the spot is exposed to sun during the spring and shade during the summer. You can combine it with other plants that will provide shade when the time comes.

Harvesting curly chervil

Harvesting takes place 6 to 8 weeks after sowing. It is best to harvest as needed, as it loses its aroma very quickly. This is why it is also difficult to preserve.
