CHICORY FRISEE WALLONNE AB
Cichorium endivia var. crispum
Walloon curly endive is a vigorous variety that produces a large head. It is cold-resistant, making it suitable for cultivation in northern France. Easy to grow, it adapts well to heavy soil and whitens easily.
It is eaten raw in salad or cooked in gratin, in jus, or with béchamel sauce.
Sowing
Sowing from June to July in nurseries. Transplant the plants 30 cm apart in the row, in a sunny location.
Harvest
Harvest approximately 3 months after sowing. Remember to water regularly. It is possible to grow this chicory earlier in the season, but it bolts very quickly.
