CABBAGE BROCCOLI EARLY PURPLE SPROUTING AB
Brassica oleracea var. italica
This old, hardy, and early-ripening variety produces small, dark purple florets that can be harvested continuously throughout spring. They can be eaten raw or cooked. Note that they lose their color when cooked and turn green.
This variety is particularly cold-resistant, withstanding temperatures down to -12°C.
Sowing
You can sow your seeds from June to mid-August.
To encourage plant growth, place the seed less than one centimeter underground and space the plants 60 to 80 cm apart.
Harvest
Harvest from February to April of the following year for late sowings.
Cut off the small central head to encourage the growth of new shoots (lateral florets).
Growth
At maturity, the plants reach an average of 70 cm and can even reach almost 1 m.
