Description
Rediscover this close cousin of the turnip: this rutabaga variety forms a purplish-yellow root, oblong and swollen at the top. Its flesh is sweet and mild, with a 120-day cycle.
Sowing
Sow in a nursery from May to the end of June, in rows spaced approximately 40 cm apart. Thin to 7 cm. When the plant is about the diameter of a pencil, transplant 30 cm apart in all directions. The root collar must be well exposed to the soil.
Harvest
Can be left in the ground over winter and pulled up as needed, from September to December.
