A popular variety in Japan , it produces a stem about 35 cm tall, with a fleshy white base about 6 cm tall.
Cold -resistant and slow to grow, rustic , it can be harvested all year round.

Harvest young in green in 60 days , or in 90 days for use of its fleshy base. It is used like a spring onion with a more pronounced flavor, and in many Asian recipes.

Sowing the Plant

Sowing: from the end of February to May , in well-worked soil, rich in humus , but without adding manure .
It can be grown as an annual . Partially covering it with soil allows the fleshy part of the stem to be longer.

Harvest approximately 2 to 3 months after sowing.
