Cuminum cyminum
Annual , aromatic and medicinal with white flowers , cumin produces seeds of about 5-6 mm , very aromatic , used in cooking , baking or for the preparation of liqueurs and infusions . Cumin is said to have virtues to improve the appetite or aid digestion . Traditionally used to enhance the taste of Munster and other cheeses .
Sowing Cumin
Sow from January to April under heated cover, in pockets of 3 to 4 seeds per pot. Transplant and space the plants 10 cm apart, when the outside temperature exceeds 12°C . The adult plant is on average 30 cm tall. Maturity after about 4 months of heat and sun. Harvest the seeds when the pods are brown.
