Description
Brussels chicory, or semi-early endive from Mechelen, is an old variety producing beautiful, slightly elongated chicories. It is only suitable for traditional cultivation with forcing under soil cover. It is registered under the name: Hollandse Middelvroeg.
Sowing
Sowing thinly in place from April to August. Thin to 10/15 cm in the row, spaced 30 cm apart. In October/November, pull up the roots and cut the leaves 2 cm above the collar. Plant the roots tightly together vertically in a 25 cm deep trench and cover the trench with 25 cm of light soil or compost.
