Description

The Phénomène pole bean is a vigorous snap bean variety with long pods measuring 15 to 18 cm, in clusters. The fleshy pods contain white grains. It can be eaten in pods, fresh or dried.

Successful bean sowing

Sow from April to May when frost is no longer a risk and the soil has warmed up.

Sowing periods vary depending on the variety. Green eating beans are sown in stages until the end of July.

Beans to eat in fresh grains, staggered sowing until July 15.

Beans to eat as dried grains, staggered sowing until June 15.

For dwarf varieties, 5 to 6 seeds per pocket arranged in a staggered row every 40 cm. Rows spaced 40 cm apart. For climbing varieties, 6 to 7 seeds per pocket arranged in a staggered row every 50 cm. Rows spaced 70 cm apart, 2 to 3 rows maximum per bed.

Healthy, loosened, fresh, light and humus-rich soil.

Warm and sunny exposure, hoeing and watering.
