LINGOT DWARF BEAN OR WHITE SWISS SHELLING BEAN AB
Phaseolus vulgaris
This variety of dried beans, native to the Northwest, produces a cylindrical white bean. Each pod (15/16 cm) contains approximately 5 to 6 seeds, flattened at the end.
The dwarf shelling bean is a high-yielding variety that keeps well. Late-ripening and hardy, it prefers cool, light soils with a sunny exposure.
Sowing: Sowing is done from April to July for a harvest extending from June to October.
Harvesting: For dry grain harvesting, wait until the pods are over-ripe.
