Description
Pierre Bénite's Batavia lettuce is a summer and fall variety that forms a very large, firm, and full head. Its leaves, with finely wavy and serrated edges, are blistered, tender, and crisp. They offer a mild, nutty flavor. This variety is vigorous and resistant to bolting.

Successful Sowing of Batavia Lettuce by Pierre Bénite
Sowing: Sow thinly in a nursery from March to June. Transplant the seedlings when they have a few leaves, in a sunny position in fertile, humus-rich and fresh soil, 25 cm apart in all directions.
