Asparagus and Celtuce Lettuce
Asparagus lettuce is grown for its fleshy, crisp stem, which is eaten cooked. Its leaves are not generally eaten due to its advanced growth. This variety is grown in spring or fall.
Sowing : in a pot from April to May or from the end of July to the end of August, then plant out when the seedlings have 4 to 6 true leaves spaced 25 x 25 cm apart.
Harvest : Pull up the plants when they reach about 35 to 40 cm.
Suitable temperature : 12 - 20°C.
