Buttercrunch head lettuce is an heirloom variety of butter lettuce, forming a very small head with thick leaves, a slightly wavy edge, and moderately pronounced blistering. Completely heat-resistant, it offers very good flavor and retains its crispness even in summer. All-America Award winner.
Successful sowing
Sowing : Sow throughout the season, from early spring to autumn. In case of extreme heat, protect your plants and lettuces that have already headed with a shade cloth.
Spring head lettuces
Sowing : Light in February or March in a nursery or under cover. Transplant when the plants have a few leaves, in a sunny position in fertile, humus-rich and fresh soil, spaced 20 cm apart in all directions.
Harvest : approximately 2 months after sowing.
