Job's tears are native to South and East Asia, cultivated for 4000 years in India and 2000 years in China, it is a perennial herb, grown as an annual in our climates, measuring 1 m on average but can reach 2 m. Job's tears occupied a very important place before corn and rice became staple foods. Cultivated for its ornamental qualities and for its very original seeds. Black and shiny when ripe, these seeds become a blue-grey with a varnished appearance when dried.
