Description
Variety cultivated in Italy for the PGI "lentils of Castelluccio di Norcia" with small multicolored grains, rich in minerals, fiber, iron and vitamins. Grains with very thin skin, do not soak them before cooking and do not cook them for too long. Very well-known variety in Italy, in the region of Norcia in Umbria, locally called "la lenta". Its cultivation is still widespread there, and the lentil fields in bloom in early summer are a sought-after sight on the slopes of the Monti Sibilini National Park, between Umbria and Marche.
