THE UNIVERSITY OF GOATS
In 1833, in the Southern Alps, Fortuné Chabert is an itinerant teacher. From village to village, he happily teaches reading, writing and arithmetic to children. This teaching nomadism is called the university of goats. Fortuné will have to give up his priesthood, and will find himself, years later, among the Hopis of Arizona, in the United States. In 2018, Sanjar travels the Afghan mountains with his board on his back. He also practices the university of goats. Driven out by the Taliban, he will become an auxiliary of the American army in Afghanistan. What is the link that unites Fortuné and Sanjar, a priori as far apart as possible in time and space? It is a young woman, Arizona Florès.
