Description

The medieval flower mix owes its name to its composition, which includes species already present in our countryside in the Middle Ages. The tone is initially blue (cornflower, echium) and the height is moderate (30 to 40 cm). Then flax and marigold come in contrast with shades of red-orange. The malope then brings a touch of old rose. The mixture then gains a little in height. The medieval flower mix is composed of 10 annuals including: borage, cornflower, chervil, echium, annual flax, malope, nigella, annual larkspur, marigold ... Sowing density: 2 to 5 grams / m² Soil preparation before sowing A good cleaning with a hoe is necessary. You can practice the false sowing technique. Simply clean your plot once, wait 2 to 3 weeks to give the weed seeds time to germinate. Then we carry out a second cleaning to have a perfectly clean soil before sowing the flower meadow. After removing the last traces of weeds, give it a good dig to loosen the surface of the soil to create a well-refined seedbed. It is not necessary to loosen in depth but only the first 3 or 4 centimeters. Sowing a flower meadow Sow the seeds by broadcasting from March to June, spreading them well over the entire seedbed. When the seeds are sown, gently pass the dig to bury them in the soil on the surface like sowing a lawn. Water thoroughly then during the dry period, the emergence should take a few weeks. Flowering Flowering from June to September.
