Lemon balm is an aromatic perennial plant measuring 60 cm in height, very melliferous thanks to its flowers very rich in nectar. The white flowers appear between June and August .
Its leaves give off a strong lemony scent. In cooking, it can be harvested as needed to add it to fish dishes, salads or even dishes in sauce .
It is full of medicinal properties : it is used in infusion , herbal tea or summer drink for its properties: calming , antispasmodic , stomachic , carminative , sudorific , in friction it calms irritations due to insect bites .
Lemon balm seedlings
Sowing: from February to April in a nursery for transplanting in the fall. Sowing in place at the end of spring, in fresh, well -drained soil , in partial shade . Lemon balm does not like drought or excess humidity.
Cut back after harvest to produce new shoots.
