Water mint is a semi-aquatic aromatic perennial with a powerful minty aroma and serrated lanceolate leaves .
It offers pretty lilac-pink flowers carried on stems of around 30 to 40 cm .
As its name suggests, water mint is a variety perfectly suited to being planted at the edge of a pond , ditch or damp meadow .
How to successfully sow water mint
Sow in a pot under cover at 18-20°C from March to April . Transplant into pots from May . Invasive plant .
Planting water mint
Plant the plants in spring or autumn in a container (basket, pot) buried or submerged under 30 cm of water in partial shade or sunny exposure in a cool climate .
Harvesting mint leaves
Harvest the leaves from March to October .
