This superb variety of perennial plant has fragrant foliage that can be drunk in infusions. Original in beds as well as in bouquets, its leaves and flowers will pleasantly perfume dishes. Monarda is very melliferous.

Planting

Plant in a sunny but not burning location in rich, fresh soil. Keep 40 cm between plants.

Bergamot Monarda, or Wild Bergamot, is a vigorous perennial that forms a bushy clump. A medicinal plant rich in nectar and pollen, it offers pretty purple-mauve blooms for up to 8 weeks. Its foliage is very aromatic and reminiscent of bergamot. Sowing: spring. Height: 50-60 cm. Flowering: July to September.
