Bergamot monarda is a perennial aromatic plant with a scent reminiscent of lemon mint. Very popular with bees. Height: 90 cm. The leaves and flowers are harvested to make infusions or to flavor salads, raw vegetables, fish, and white meats. Bergamot monarda has digestive, aperitif, carminative, anti-nausea, and antiseptic properties. It is also a host plant for many nocturnal butterflies and a natural insect repellent against mosquitoes. Successfully sowing Bergamot Monarda Sow from April to June in a box, pot in fine seed compost that should be kept moist, or in open ground in well-prepared soil. Sow at 15-25°C.
