Description

A variety of shallot type, productive and keeps well . Its elongated, pointed and slightly curved bulb is covered with a pink tunic . It measures approximately 2 to 5 cm in diameter and 10 to 18 cm long .

Its pink, fragrant and juicy flesh can be used both raw and cooked .
Harvest in 150 days and keep until the end of winter .

Sowing and planting

Spring sowing : sow thinly , in place, from March to April , in rows spaced 25 to 30 cm apart.
Thin out about 2 and a half months after sowing , first to 5 cm , then a few weeks later to 10 cm .

Autumn sowing ( in southern regions only ): in a nursery , in August/September , then transplant in place in October/November .

Growing conditions and disease prevention

Onions need light, loose, fertile soil . Choose a sunny location and avoid damp soil .

To prevent diseases, provide well-rotted manure and regularly apply foliar fertilization with lithothamnium and spray with Bordeaux mixture .
