Papaver somniferum
The bowling ball poppy is a magnificent variety used for its large capsules appearing after flowering, ideal for creating very pretty bouquets of dried flowers. The flowers are pink in color. Papaver somniferum has analgesic and sedative properties. This plant is very easy to grow, it does not require any particular maintenance and reseeds itself. Successfully sowing bowling poppy Sow in autumn or spring, in well-drained soil, in a sunny location. Sow on warmed and well-refined soil, cover very lightly with a few mm of soil. Keep moist. Emergence in approximately 10 to 14 days. Thin to 20 cm. Flowering Flowering from May to June for autumn sowings and in June/July for spring sowings.
