The Pheromone trap: a 100% ecological method. A perfectly effective method that respects plantations and the soil, the trap allows, by adding an attractant, the pheromone to selectively attract and destroy a large number of male insect pests to prevent reproduction. The duration of action of the pheromones is 4 to 6 weeks. What is the pine processionary caterpillar? The pine processionary caterpillar is one of the biggest insect pests in France. It feeds on pine needles, causing defoliation of the tree, weakening it, making it vulnerable to diseases and other pests. Very stinging because of its hairs, the processionary caterpillar is also dangerous for humans (allergic reactions, itching, respiratory problems, etc.) and for animals. How to use the special pheromone trap for pine processionary caterpillars? Put the hanging string in place. Position the collection bag under the trap, previously weighted with a stone as big as your fist. Then secure it using the strap. Place the pheromone capsule (to be purchased separately). To avoid contact with your fingers, cut off the top of the bag and pour the capsule directly into the small pheromone basket provided for this purpose. Put the closing cap on then slide the pheromone basket into the hole on the top of the trap. Hang the trap about 2 m from the ground, on a branch of the tree you wish to protect. Kit contents 1 plastic trap with side entrances 1 pheromone basket + cap 1 collection bag 1 strap for securing the bag 1 hanging string How to use it? The pheromone capsule is packaged in a waterproof bag. It can be used as soon as the bag is opened. It must be placed in the small capsule-holder basket of the pheromone trap. The trap + pheromone set is to be placed in the tree to be protected. Treatment period From June to August. Dosage: 1 to 2 trap(s) + pheromone(s) per tree.
