NATURAL REED PEAS (OR BLAUWSCHOKKER) ROUND GRAIN TO SHELL AB
Pisum sativum
How to successfully sow peas
Sowing: from April to May when frost is no longer a risk and the soil is warm.
Sow in place, in pockets of 6 to 7 seeds per pocket arranged in a staggered pattern every 50 cm in healthy, loosened, fresh, light and humus-rich soil in a warm and sunny location. Space the rows 70 cm apart, 2 to 3 rows maximum per bed.
Keep only the most vigorous plants. Hoeing and watering.
Keep the soil moist by regular watering and good mulching.
Good associations
Peas will enjoy the company of carrots, beets, lettuce, tomatoes or strawberries.
Avoid placing them near onions, shallots or garlic.
Harvest
Peas are harvested about 3 to 4 months after sowing.
Conservation
You can store your peas in jars or in the freezer.
The enemies
Beware of slugs and snails. Place a barrier around your crop.
