The Benedictine apple tree is a Norman variety producing large orange-yellow fruits with red stripes. The apple tree was named Benedictine in homage to the monks of the Abbey of Jumièges. The Benedictine apple has a white, firm, sweet, juicy, very aromatic flesh with a slightly creamy skin. Eating apple and cooking apple, tarte tatin for example.
