Annual, also called Silene Armerie. Upright, herbaceous plant with aerial pink flowers blooming from May to September. A bee-producing plant, it attracts pollinating insects. Height: 30-60cm. It appreciates well-drained, dry soils, a sunny exposure and tolerates calcareous soils. It is suitable for growing in beds, borders, rockeries or in pots. It tolerates drought well and reseeds easily. The young shoots and leaves are edible raw or cooked.
