Description

A shrubby perennial, not hardy, with a round shape, reaching 25 cm in a pot and 35 cm in the ground, it appreciates heat. It will even thrive in dry and poor soil in a mild to warm climate. Productive from spring to autumn, the shortening of the days will induce flowering and seed formation from mid-August. Its fine and tender foliage has a strong aniseed scent and flavor. Fresh it can be added to salads or desserts. Dried its leaves can be added to tea or infusions. Very late flowering.

Successful sowing of dropshot liquorice marigolds

Sow in February/April, in a tray on moist seed compost. Cover with a few mm of compost. Keep moist at 20/25°C, in the light, germination in 7 to 21 days.
Transplant into a pot and place in a cool place before planting outdoors after the frost.

Cultivation of marigold

Plant after frost, leaving 15-20 cm between plants in drained soil in a sunny location.
Remove faded flowers to prolong flowering.

Bloom

Flowering lasts from June to October.
