Description
This compact zinnia produces large pompoms of a chartreuse green to almond color. This variety is particularly suited to slightly shaded areas. Very beautiful flowers for fresh or dried bouquets. Heat and drought resistant, little maintenance required if the soil is well drained. Height: 55 cm. Sowing: from March to May. Flowering: from July to October.
How to successfully sow dahlia-flowered zinnias
Sowing in a pot or in a box:
Sow from March to May in pots or trays between 21 and 30°C, in fine seed compost. Place a few seeds per pot, cover the seeds with compost and firm down. Keep the soil cool until germination.
Germination can take between 5 and 10 days.
Sowing in open ground
It is also possible to sow in open ground in May once the risk of frost has passed, after working the soil to make it soft and adding seed compost.
Sow the seeds thinly. Cover the seeds with seed compost. Firm and water lightly.
Planting
Replant zinnias in spring in May in a sunny location.
Bloom
Flowering appears from July to October.
