The traditional Opinel with a stainless steel blade folded into a handle in stained and varnished hornbeam in orange. With its leather strap, you can take it everywhere without losing it. 8 cm blade. In 1890 in Albiez-le-Vieux, a small village in Maurienne, in the heart of the French Alps, in Savoie, Joseph Opinel worked in his father's workshop and invented the pocket knife that today bears his name. His knives quickly became a great success and in 1901 Joseph set up his first company next to the family workshop. In 1915 the company moved to Chambéry (Cognin). This was the start of a great adventure! Opinel remains a company run by the descendants of Joseph Opinel, still based in Chambéry, it now employs around a hundred people. Concerned about its environment, the company has committed to a production approach that respects natural resources. For over 120 years, Opinel has accompanied nature lovers, cooks, DIY enthusiasts, gardeners, mountaineers, sailors, etc. Loved by the greatest artists and adventurers, adopted worldwide, a design reference, it has become a natural extension of the human hand.
