Romaine Forellenschluss lettuce, also known as "trout-spotted," is a beautiful traditional Austrian variety with a green head marbled with reddish-brown. Its distinctive, slightly sweet flavor with a nutty accent earned it first prize among more than 900 lettuce varieties. It is one of the most tender romaine lettuces. It also has good bolting resistance.
