Golden Bantam sweetcorn is a mid-season heirloom variety that produces long, sweet, yellow cobs of good eating quality. Fresh cobs are approximately 17/18 cm long and weigh 180 grams.

This variety produces fairly tall plants (1.5 to 2m).

Yellow ears are harvested when the grains are tender and milky, and are eaten cooked in water, deseeded, with vinaigrette, cream or in a vegetable medley.

Successful corn sowing

Sow in May, in a sunny, sheltered location, 3 to 4 seeds per pocket 40 cm apart, in rows 70 cm apart.

Leave only the best plant, hill up the feet when the plants reach 15 to 20 cm in height.
