Allium cepa
Late variety from Italy with large, conical, copper-colored bulbs with sweet, white flesh . Excellent storage . Can be eaten raw or cooked .
Spring sowing
Sowing thinly , in place from February to April in rows spaced 25 to 30 cm apart. Thin out approximately 2 and a half months after sowing, once to 5 cm , then a few weeks later to 10 cm .
Autumn sowing
In the nursery, in August/September , transplant in October/November for regions with a mild climate and in February/March for colder regions.
Growing conditions
Onions need light, loose, and fertile soil. Choose a sunny location and avoid damp soil. To prevent disease, provide well-rotted manure and regularly apply foliar fertilizers with lithothamnium and spray with Bordeaux mixture .
