Description

Spring sowing

Sow thinly , in place, from February to April , in rows spaced 25 to 30 cm apart.
Thin out about 2 and a half months after sowing , first to 5 cm , then a few weeks later to 10 cm .

Autumn sowing

In a nursery , in August/September , then transplant in October/November for regions with a mild climate , and in February/March for the coldest regions .

Planting

Plant the bulbs in February/March , spaced 10 cm apart in the row , in rows 30 cm apart.

Growing conditions and disease prevention

Onions need light, loose, fertile soil . Choose a sunny location and avoid damp soil .

To prevent diseases, provide well-rotted manure and regularly apply foliar fertilization with lithothamnium , as well as spraying with Bordeaux mixture .
